CTP Group Design Manager

CTP seeks highly skilled Design Manager for the CTP Group. This is a newly established position, based in Amsterdam, as part of the newly formed Group Construction, Design & Procurement department.


The Design Manager will be part of the newly formed Group Construction, Design & Procurement department, which is there to oversee all company development projects across the region, to be in line with approved budgets, schedules, project plans and specifications.

The purpose of the job

Update, maintain and enforce implementation of the CTP White Book design standards to ensure and control the quality of project designs. Support the company with innovative design solutions and standardization in order to allow for quality improvements and cost optimizations. Expand knowledge base in the organization on infrastructure solutions and area development needs for logistic parks. Support country teams in the coordination and management of external design teams to ensure all project designs, at various stages of a project, are completed in an accurate, timely and complete fashion.

The Design Manager will report to the Group Head of Construction, Design & Procurement.


  • Perform regular updates of the CTP White Book to ensure correct implementation and maintenance of the design requirements.
  • Coordinate design optimization sessions in order to optimize design to cost through the identification and design of innovative solutions, which can be integrated into the CTP White Book as new standard requirements.
  • Create new guidelines and requirements for the design of site accessibility and infrastructure. Approaching designs from an area development perspective.
  • Share the CTP White Book with project teams and follow up on project designs to ensure compliance.
  • Broad implementation of design solutions will allow cost efficient tendering of construction commodities. Work closely together with the Group Procurement officer to source alternative solutions to achieve project cost optimizations.
  • Participate in individual project teams in the pre-construction phase and provide design input to project designs. Organize design review sessions to assess and evaluate project designs produced by the project teams.
  • In addition to the building design, specific focus and expertise is required on site access, infrastructure and area design.
  • Execute on site design checks during the construction phase to ensure design quality control.
  • Support country teams to coordinate and manage external architects and engineers responsible for individual project designs.
  • Monitor all project designs, including tender and permit designs, at various stages of a project, are completed in an accurate, timely and complete fashion.
  • Build up company expertise and lead topics such as sustainability, circularity, infrastructure and other new development areas that may be introduced. Manage specifically in-company energy and sustainability projects to be rolled out to the countries.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with architects and engineers

Professional and personal competences:

  • Minimum qualification includes master degree in design, architecture, civil engineering and minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Specific design expertise and experience in industrial and logistic real estate.
  • BIM / Revit experience preferred.
  • Focused and able to manage large design portfolio of projects with strict adherence to design standards, in a fast-paced environment
  • Additional relevant technical skills; data analyst, math skills, team player,
  • Perfect written and spoken English; excellent communication skills
  • Looking for hard-working, hands-on person; trouble shooter; innovator

Will be required to travel frequently to the regions CTP is active in, including CEE.
