Construction Purchase Manager

Our procurement team based in Prague seeks for an experienced Purchase Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs
  • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best prices for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
  • Develop long-term procurement strategies and evaluate consequences
  • Organize tenders – mainly for deliveries of MEP construction materials (HVAC, Electrical services, Sprinklers,..); gathers offers from various suppliers, does bid comparisons and further negotiates with the suppliers in order to get best possible rates; conclude frame agreements
  • Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Find a perfect balance between investment costs per sq. m, operating costs, maintenance and repair costs for properties to function for period of 50 years at least
  • Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices and on-time deliveries
  • Actively cooperates with other colleagues from Procurement, Project management, Design and Controlling
  • Keep an overview of unit prices to identify opportunities for their continual reduction
  • Provide suggestions on innovations of construction materials
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification includes civil engineer / construction management or procurement background degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Focused and able to manage large portfolio of projects with strict adherence to budgets and deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
  • Additional relevant technical skills; data analyst, math skills, good negotiator, team player
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Perfect written and spoken English; excellent communication skills
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Office, ERP systems)
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Looking for hard-working, hands-on person; trouble shooter; innovator
