CTP delivers a large-scale, custom-built logistics center for Profi Romania

Bucharest, 2 November 2020

CTP, the largest developer and long-term operator of premium industrial and logistics parks in Romania and in Central and Eastern Europe, continues its expansion in Romania with the successful handover at CTPark Bucharest West of a new, 56,500 m² logistics centre for Profi, one of Romanian’s largest retailers.

The high-performance, stand-alone single-tenant building, which features separate cold storage units for food at three temperature categories and above-standard load capacity, was delivered within nine months of the signing of the lease agreement and became operational less than one month from completion of construction. CTP invested RON 140 million (approximately EUR 28.7 million) in construction of the new facility, which covers Profi’s extensive storage needs and which can be expanded by a further 10,000 m².

A special feature of Profi’s new warehouse at CTPark Bucharest West is the ability to store food in three temperature categories: ambient, controlled temperature (between zero and ten degrees celsius) and negative temperature (between -24 and -30 degrees). The possibility to store food at negative temperatures helps Profi in its efforts to support local producers and suppliers. Profi’s collaboration with CTP gives the company a competitive advantage that allows it to differentiate itself in partnerships with small local producers in Romania.

The new warehouse is BREEAM certified and includes an additional 30,000 m² of surrounding green space. In its attempt to neutralise the carbon footprint of its operations, the CTP Group is committed to the creation and conservation of forests in the immediate vicinity of newly built warehouses. Through this add-on to Profi’s new warehouse, CTP confirms its long-term commitment to protect the environment and carry out its activity in a responsible manner.

• Start in 2015: the first 100,000 m² bought by CTP as an operating project

• 2018 – additional deliveries – 110,000 m²
• 2019 – achieved 88,000 m²
• 2020 – 56,000 m² completed and another 160,000 m² will be ready by the end of this year
