DB Schenker Announces New Logistics Facility, CTPark Bucharest West

DB Schenker, a global provider of transport and logistics services, announces the opening of a new 21,000 m2 terminal for logistics and groupage transport operations in CTPark Bucharest West by the end of 2018.

The new terminal, representing an investment of approximately 6.5 million euro, is a built-to-suit facility based on CTP’s highest technical standards, with high energy efficiency ratings.

These features, which exceed current standards on the market, will place the new DB Schenker facility in the ‘green buildings’ category, with the highest energetic efficiency and low energy consumption.

“Taking into account DB Schenker’s development plans for logistics and transportation services, especially road transport, in the Bucharest area and surrounding localities, we decided to relocate our operational activities to a new logistics terminal developed with a strong partner like CTP. This terminal meets, on the one hand, the highest technical and constructive standards in the market as well as all the functional requirements of DB Schenker and, on the other hand, it creates the premises for medium and long-term development at the same location, given the position in a logistic park that is in continuous and accelerated expansion – CTPark Bucharest West,” declared Adrian Crizbasianu, COO and Member of the Board, DB Schenker in Romania.

CTPark Bucharest West, a property designed to become the largest logistics and industrial park in Central and Eastern Europe, is strategically placed at west of Bucharest city, at A1 highway, km 23. The total area to date is of approximately 241,2 ha, with 330,000 m2 GLA comprised in 10 warehouses. CTP has two other buildings under development at the park, with a total build area of approximately 200,000 m2. The new buildings are scheduled for delivery in two phases. The first phase is set for completion later this year, while the second phase should be completed in 2019. CTP aims to reach a total leasable area of approximately 1 million sqm in Romania in the next 3-4 years.

“Through this investment, we are confident that we will be able to meet all the demands of our existing and future customers in terms of quality, innovation and added value”. concluded Adrian Crizbasianu.
