Spielberk : BREEAM Outstanding
The Tower at Spielberk Office Centre in Brno, Czech Republic is the world’s first office building outside the UK to be awarded a BREEAM Outstanding certificate at the final, post-construction stage. This marks the culmination of a three-year process, following construction launch in 2010, and makes Brno home to the one of the world’s most advanced office buildings, underscoring the city’s emerging status as a major centre for high-tech investment.
The final BREEAM assessment for Spielberk Tower was administered by licensed assessor EC Harris who assessed the building in terms of Management, Health & Well Being, Energy, Transport, Water, Materials, Waste, Land Use & Ecology, Pollution and Innovation. The Tower’s high scores across all categories make it the first office building anywhere in the world outside the UK to achieve the BREEAM Outstanding rating, post-construction phase.
head of Property Management at CTP, Stefan deGoeij, noted: “We are delighted with the results of the BREEAM assessment for Spielberk Tower and the final designation of Outstanding. That CTP has successfully delivered the first BREEAM Outstanding building in continental Europe is a testament to our long-term commitment to developing premium-class properties at the highest standards. Further, it highlights the growing importance of Brno as one of Europe’s premier centres for modern, high-tech business.”
Since 2011, all of CTP’s premium-class office properties are built to high BREEAM sustainability standards. These include IQ Ostrava, CTOffice at CTZone Brno, and custom-built CTOffice developments, such as for Honeywell at CTPark Brno. Final post-construction BREEAM assessments for these properties are expected during 2013.
